And Immortal Rain 1, solely because the description of it in the crack!poll was too crackalicious to pass up.

Off to a meeting where the topic is: budget. Joy.

Bwahahaha! Immortal Rain!

Ok, it's not actually very good, but it has a cross nailed on the immortal hero's chest and a head in a jar!

Head in a jar! I hit that point and thought of you! XDD

DGM 6? Crap. Hmm, hopefully Viz will have it at their booth this weekend.

I read it last night and was all "Uhhhh...wtf?"

I actually read the scanlations a while back, so I'm pretty much prepared. But yeah, the series hits a major "WTF" slide and...still hasn't come out of it, that I can tell. @_@

Oh, yeah, I think I remember that. Oddly enough, I dreamt I went to Borders looking for this last night, and it wasn't there.

Yay, Immortal Rain! Couldn't help commenting, since it's one of my all-time favorite series. Which maybe makes me pathetic, but I'm okay with that. Just how pathetic? The most recent volume was on the very top of my list of manga-related things to look for when I was in Japan - it even came before All Things Minekura. No joke.

My recommendation: even if you aren't terribly impressed by the first volume, at least flip through volume two if you get a chance. For some reason, the art gets WAAAY better after the first volume. I think maybe it takes Ozaki-sensei a few chapters to get the hang of her character designs or something. Once she does, though, I think it's beautiful - the characters and linework have a sort of sweet grace about them.

:D OK, will give at least volume 2 a chance. Yeah, the art was striking me as more on the order of a first-time series, but the notes said it was the mangaka's third series, so I was wondering a bit about that.
