Man, I love fandom

So I'm (still) reading the epic Star Wars thread on fanfare.metafilter.com, enjoying the discourse and snark and commentary and jokes, and I think this little tongue-in-cheek exchange just sort of encapsulates fandom:
Commenter 1: I wonder why Chewie didn't become pilot. It's not like the hairy nubile brother isn't intelligent.

Commenter 2: The phrase "hairy nubile brother" sounds like it came directly from slash.

There's got to be some sort of shipwide intranet where the troops are all sending coded messages back and forth that tell each other to avoid Corridor B23 when Kylo Ren has a tantrum. (and possibly Deck 45 when General Hux is getting very, very icy about it).
