Aaaaaaarrrgggghhhhh!!!

I have been stalking the high-end version of the Wacom Cintiq Companion 2 for MONTHS. Thy get them in batches and put them up in their online store, so you have to manage to check the store at the time when there's a batch live.

I finally did it on June 27th. On June 29th, I got the order confirmation. Not the shipping confirmation, mind you, just the acknowledgement that an order had been placed.

A week ago, I emailed customer support with my concern that I hadn't received it nor any shipping information yet. Yesterday I got an email asking for confirmation that I hadn't received it yet, I sent a reply with no, I have not received it. I got an email this morning saying "I'm sorry you haven't received it. Our order information shows that it was delivered."

This is the shipping information:

Service:UPS 2nd Day AirĀ®
Weight:11.60 lbs
Shipped/Billed On:06/30/2015
Delivered On:07/02/2015 11:51
Delivered To: ORLANDO, FL, US
Signed By:JONES
Left At:Residential

I see three problems with this:

1. I did not pay for 2nd Day Air, I paid for Ground.
2. My name is not Jones.
3. I DO NOT LIVE ANYWHERE NEAR ORLANDO, FLORIDA.

So I phoned up Wacom support and talked to someone about it, and the stage at which things are is that she has to go talk to the shipping team and get back to me. I expect that either someone screwed up very, very badly, or someone in the shipping team is attempting to pull a scam and steal it.

If this doesn't get resolved, I guess our next step is to institute a chargeback on the credit card--we haven't got the merchandise, and they've pretty much proved that they failed to ship it to me.

In conclusion: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK.

God, I'm so sorry. I hope you get your Cintiq. :]

I would have assumed similar. One does not usually imagine that one's package has been diverted to freaking Florida under someone else's name. My God. I hope this gets sorted out soonest.

That sucks! (And it sure sounds like an inside job to me, because that is a bizarre error.)

But speaking of tablets, Chuckles is really really interested in getting into digital art. Do you have any basic hardware suggestions? Our old desktop is on its last legs, so we're considering getting either a laptop or desktop that the kids can share, along with a drawing tablet for Chuckles.

I acquired a Wacom Intuos recently, the smallest, lightest, cheapest version; and it came bundled with Manga Studio 5. Best bundle deal I've ever had (last tablet came with Painter, previous with Photoshop Lite) - I find it intuitive and exceedingly powerful.

Good to know, thanks!

This is bizarre - hope it gets sorted soon and that you get your new toy Instead of Mr. or Mrs. Jones in Florida, who seem to be enjoying themselves...

Whaaaat. Hope you get a speedy resolution - sounds like something fishy is going on.

Ack. Yeah, that sounds like scam.

I'm also really angry at myself for not contacting them earlier. Silly me, I assumed that because they hadn't sent me shipping information, they hadn't shipped the damn thing! I figured it was still stuck in that general order processing limbo, like they'd opened up slots to sell X amount because X amount were on their way from China, or wherever they're manufactured, and would be going out once they made it to the distribution center.

I can't remember the last time something was shipped to me without an email notification. Certainly not high-tech gear worth over a grand. So your assumption was perfectly reasonable.

Oh, crap.

What is it with all the scamming? The other day 76 called us and wanted to know if it was us buying 150 bucks worth of gas for two cars (buses?) in some other state. We can't figure out how the assclown got our number from several states away in order to load up two gigantic cars.

If it was a debit card, a card skimmer (http://krebsonsecurity.com/all-about-skimmers/) somewhere, perhaps. They're pretty much undetectable if you're not an expert on it. Otherwise, probably someone, somewhere, that you paid with that card got compromised. :/

That's what they said, but damn. This kind of stuff is a PITA!

[identity profile] tool-of-satan.livejournal.com 2015-07-23 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
That sucks!

If Wacom has proof that they didn't screw up, then UPS must have. I would believe pretty much anything of them.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2015-07-23 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
UPS is more reliable in my experience than FedEx*, but I think that's strongly regional!

Anyway, SOMEBODY is at fault here.

* FedEx delights in leaving credit cards and other signature-only things at the door without knocking, that is, when they even bother to show up and don't just mark it as "nobody home" without knocking.
