Gimme ideas for paintings, pleeeease. Cannot gurantee I'll actually do any of them, but I'm feeling creatively tapped out and not able to come up with anything myself. Thanks.

Beware what you ask for. 8^) Idea: design a mask, antler and pelt set for the elaphanthropods of the Endless forest game. Some of the extant sets can be seen here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/persephassa/sets/72157617355987861/ I suggest something yellow. Like: yellow tang, yellow phase emerald boa, goldfinch, yellow flower spider...

Idea two: ZeFrank's Scribbler ap. http://www.zefrank.com/scribbler/ There's a gallery there and I have a few in [community profile] the_scribbler.

Maybe a character portrait for your Echo Bazaar character?

What about a mantis? In whatever form or design. Just like seeing manti.

Good luck.

A handsome but skinny Latino teenager in a beat-up leather jacket, leaning against a crystalline, blood-red tree.

Could be the cover for the book Sherwood and I are working on!

Give him a gun and it's my Virginia Avenue Project piece!

[identity profile] rachelmanija.livejournal.com 2010-04-12 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
Seriously? One you commissioned, or one someone is having you do?

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2010-04-12 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
The one she commissioned from me. :)

[identity profile] rachelmanija.livejournal.com 2010-04-12 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
... I would not have imagined that two people would independently create that character AND his blood-red crystalline tree! But I really want to see it when it's done.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2010-04-12 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
There is not, actually, a blood-red crystalline tree (although I suspect it would not be amiss XD). I will say that I did think of her pic when I read your prompt. :D

[identity profile] rachelmanija.livejournal.com 2010-04-12 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, that's much less weird. But I still want to see it!

Our guy has knives, not a gun. But he does eventually acquire a gun. Maybe her guy eventually acquires a mutant tree.

[identity profile] maxineofarc.livejournal.com 2010-04-12 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
I could think of some scenario in which my guy could acquire a mutant blood-red crystalline tree. Crossover!

[identity profile] rachelmanija.livejournal.com 2010-04-12 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
Who's your guy? An original character?

[identity profile] maxineofarc.livejournal.com 2010-04-12 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
Yup. I'm not a writer, but he's my favorite RP character. :)

[identity profile] maxineofarc.livejournal.com 2010-04-12 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
The one I bribed [livejournal.com profile] telophase to do with a sufficiently high donation. :D

Illustrate an Echo Bazaar storylet?

Spring flower (lilacs, violets, and tulips) inspired kimono. Beautiful red haired swordsman, in said kimono, holding a sword. Purple eyes and glare a plus!! Spring light, clouds, or light sun could all play a role.

Or, what about something like that woman from Bleach in a similar outfit?

[identity profile] pseudo_tsuga.livejournal.com 2010-04-11 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Fog swirling around a person (that isn't Sherlock Holmes).

Playing an an instrument that's isn't the piano, violin or flute.

Good luck with the artist's block!

Something featuring trams, or Rio, or both!

like so: http://world.nycsubway.org/world/br/santateresa.html

Tina Fey pointed out this weekend that there are four women in space right now, for the first time ever. So I nominate several spaaaaaace themes:

A woman in classical kimono, in a traditional Japanese tea house in space.

Two women playing space chess.

Nyota Uhura playing the Vulcan lute.

Maybe try a vague phrase and see what your mind comes up with as interpretation?

Can you provide any guidance on what you might be interested in? Still life? Classic-style portraits? Redoing cover art for an SF book? Chibi version of someone?

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2010-04-12 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
If I had a clue what I might be interested in, I wouldn't need to ask for prompts. :)

Also, if I give ideas like that, it won't help with stretching my brain, because I will remain stuck in the same rut that I'm in.

A set of Avatar benders a la your "magic shop owners," backed by symbols of their elements?
