...I now have TiVo. And after only having to go through the setup twice because it decided all of a sudden after communicating with the network JUST FINE for 20 minutes that no, it didn't like the network adapter plugged into that USB port, and I should switch it to the other one. But it's going, at least.

My lousy TV is, naturally, not one of the brands listed in the remote configuration screen, so we'll see if I'll be able to set it up or not. I am not optimistic.

And on that note, I'm going to bed. I emailed that I was going to be in late and work late instead. They're Systems people. They'll understand the mad desire not to let this network setup and uppity piece of machinery best you.

Via [livejournal.com profile] emtigereyes, TheOtaku.com is having an anime art contest for breast cancer awareness. Prizes include Wiis and PSP3s, if the idea of helping a good cause doens't do it for ya. :)

So ... who of you is going to help me come up with a winning idea? If I win, I'll ... er, send you a picture of the console? :/

Anyway, original characters only despite their inexplicably calling it "fan art."

If you're not nice to me, I will learn to knit just to knit you this.

Just announced: plans for a third Death Note movie, this one a different story from the main series. The only thing known about it is that L is the main character.

Randomness

In totally random news, one of the Roman-era books that was recommended to me after I watched Rome arrived in the mail the other day from PaperbackSwap.com. (Hadrian's Wall by William Dietrich.)

I picked it up the other day to read at lunch, and what should fall out but an airplane boarding pass stub from a flight from Denver, CO to Casper, WY. I used to live in Denver, and when I did, I spent a summer as an intern at a museum in Casper, WY.

Obviously, I was meant to have this book. Too bad the story proper starts with six pages of italics for no adequately explained reason. (I think it's meant to be a letter or written chronicle, but SIX PAGES OF ITALICS is damn hard to read.)
