Lemminglike, I post
Nov. 9th, 2006 12:51 pmOnce tagged by this entry, the assignment is to write a blog entry of some kind with six random facts about yourself. Then, pick six of your friends and tag them; no tag backs. This explanation should be included. (I was tagged by
flos_campi...)
1. If I were a boy, I'd have been named Eliot Porter after my dad's favorite photographer. I think being born female saved me many beatings from my peers as a child.
2. As many of you know (it didn't say the facts had to be unknown, did it?) I spent two years of my childhood in Tanzania...
3. ...and as a result, contracted malaria. No relapses, though, so I'm officially declared cured after 12 years had passed.
4. A Romany (Gypsy) organization in Spain downloaded an article I'd posted to Usenet in 1995 or 1996, translated it into Spanish, and ran it in I Tchatchipen, a journal they publish (scroll to #13 - " Vestigios de la historia de una cultura no literaria, por Stephanie G. Folse"). And told me after they'd done so - I wish I'd thought to ask for a copy of the journal.
5. I have a small scar on one of my feet from when I was two and riding in a child seat on the back of my mother's bicycle. I stuck my foot in the spokes, which caused her to wipe out and caused much pain to me. Which I don't remember.
6. I have a big bump on the second toe of my right foot, caused by my one and only sports injury, a broken toe from karate. I broke my toe on my sensei. :) You know when you're doing a front snap kick and they say to pull your toes back? They mean it.
Hey! You! Yeah, you six people! You're tagged! Maybe! If you want!
